What is RESERVE?+
RESERVE is a portable reserve-energy system in development for electric vehicles. Its purpose is to restore enough usable energy to help a driver reach conventional charging infrastructure.
How much range could RESERVE provide?+
The current engineering target is approximately 10–25 added miles, depending on the vehicle, conditions and transfer losses. This target is still under validation.
Which vehicles will RESERVE support?+
Compatibility is still under development. The initial focus is a carefully validated set of North American electric vehicles.
Will RESERVE work with NACS / J3400?+
NACS / J3400 is the planned initial interface focus. Final compatibility will be published only after vehicle and safety validation.
How heavy will RESERVE be?+
Final weight is not yet fixed. The modular architecture is designed to make individual modules easier to handle than one large battery enclosure.
How do I recharge RESERVE?+
The planned experience includes recharging from compatible fixed charging equipment. Final charging methods and times remain under validation.
Will RESERVE be available to rent?+
That is the plan. RESERVE GO is the future rental experience for drivers who want backup energy for a trip without owning the hardware.
What is RESERVE GO?+
A planned service to reserve a unit in the app, pick it up nearby, take it on your trip and return it when you are done.
Is RESERVE available today?+
RESERVE is in pre-launch development and is not yet commercially available. Join the waitlist for Kickstarter launch news and early-access opportunities.
When will prototype testing begin?+
Prototype milestones will be shared as development progresses. No public testing date has been announced.
Is RESERVE certified?+
Not yet. RESERVE is being designed with certification and automotive transport conditions in mind. Final certifications will be published before commercial release.
